Somewhat unbelievable that no one is taking advantage of this! The KP is the best APSC DSLR in the market right now in terms of lowlight capability and image quality, plus that DA25 f2.8 Macro Limited is so sharp and has character.
fakuryuIt makes for a good starter camera too. I like how one of the User Modes is Manual Lens which eliminates some of the menu drilling you'd have to do when attaching a manual lens. And, as I mentioned in a previous post, The additional bracketing modes can also be useful in beginner/intermediate stage.

This is simply not true. High ISO number does not cause great image quality.
fakuryu"built in Image Acceleration uni" is a name of way of implementing the technology (digital noise reduction) known for decades. Typically it is done on the main processor and was already used since K10D and by other OEMs as well but Pentax decided to make it a different chip.
There are three problems with this chip:
it does nothing what can't be done with raw file developer. Specifically, it seems to apply mostly colour noise reduction as Fujifilm does for years already and Fujifilm does it even more aggressively.
it cannot be disabled and it's effect cannot be (easily) reversed
it reduces image detail (in this case: only slightly) as ANY existing random noise reduction algorithm

Here is comparison between K-1 which does not have it and K-1 II which has similar chip. https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/image-comparison/fullscreen?attr18=daylight&attr13_0=pentax_k1&attr13_1=pentax_k1ii&attr13_2=sony_a7ii&attr13_3=fujifilm_xt3&attr15_0=raw&attr15_1=raw&attr15_2=raw&attr15_3=raw&attr16_0=1600&attr16_1=1600&attr16_2=1600&attr16_3=1600&attr126_0=1&attr126_1=1&attr171_1=1&normalization=full&widget=1&x=-0.31430476455080064&y=0.6849277254716402 Look at the purple spool. You can see that K-1 has more noise and slightly better detail. Then look at how D7200 has less colour noise (tens of pixels large green and purple blobs in this case) than KP even without noise reduction. https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/image-comparison/fullscreen?attr18=daylight&attr13_0=nikon_d7200&attr13_1=pentax_kp&attr13_2=pentax_kp&attr13_3=fujifilm_xt3&attr15_0=raw&attr15_1=raw&attr15_2=raw&attr15_3=raw&attr16_0=3200&attr16_1=3200&attr16_2=3200&attr16_3=3200&attr126_0=1&attr126_1=1&attr171_1=1&normalization=full&widget=1&x=0.34696618373376736&y=-0.08711197526986966
