What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. My SpaceFN article on kbd.news made some rounds recently - quite surprisingly given the age of this concept. This piece you're reading is a condensed version of the full post. If you're left with unanswered questions, you'll most likely find the info you're looking for in the original write-up. On my imaginary top list of the most useful keyboard features, tweaks and hacks, SpaceFN would deserve a podium finish for sure. But what makes it so special? In short: SpaceFN is easy to implement, easy to learn, costs nothing, can be used with any keyboard, and can improve your productivity instantly. I will list its benefits below, but can state right at this point that the SpaceFN concept, setting up your space key as a layer switch when held, is clearly one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby....

Replied several minutes after I posted this.. really appreciate the detail on the reasons why this is going so slowly.. or if its going at all... :EDIT: I could build an automated messaging service bot that would provide more details than these people are giving us...
"Hi, Thank you for contacting Massdrop, PERSON here to assist you. We are sincerely sorry about this delay. We are currently working on gathering and packing the remaining orders and have them sent out as soon as possible. Your patience is greatly appreciated. We will be sending updates periodically in the discussion board to keep everyone informed when we have a solid shipment date. Thank you for your time and please let me know if you need help with anything else! Best regards, PERSON"
Edit: After asking for more details about what is taking so long, if all kits were on track to be sent out by the 13th? Got this reply... Is it just me, or does anyone else expect they should tell us what these "unexpected issues" are, exactly? I know in my line of work, web development, this would NOT fly with a client... "Oh, sorry we missed your deadline, due to some unexpected issues... stay tuned for updates on when we'll finish the job we're already overdue for!"
"Due to unexpected issues at the warehouse with packing some of the keyboards, we have had to process this shipment with a lot more scrutiny to make sure they were 100% ready to be sent out. We understand that the wait can be frustrating as issues can suddenly arise but we are working to ship them out as soon as possible. Please stay tuned for our confirmation email."
:EDIT: After asking for actual details on what these mysterious "unexpected issues" are... I get this...
"By the information I have gathered from logistics, seems that the drop was bigger than expected and it has not been humanly possible to pack the items within the estimated deadline and we apologize that we gave out a date that could not be fulfilled, we recognize it was an error in our end and we are working to remedy the situation. Thank you for your patience. "
The drop was bigger than expected guys, don't worry!!
they knew exactly how many units of each they were going to be receiving, and ultimately shipping out..
none of it was unexpected, except how long they'd make us wait
