I had these, upgrades from the smaller Presonus speakers which I liked. I use a PC to Schiit Jotunheim with balanced DAC and XLR cable output. They really aren't bad, good detail, you can get a minor soundstage with the right room treatment and seating position, bass extends more than smaller models and they don't lose much detail when leaving them on full range. I found them to be acceptable for most uses. However, they were plagued by an annoying hiss. It makes this sound even when plugged into isolated power sources with quality power filters and cables, and even with no input signal or cable attached. It persists at any gain setting, both speakers. I found it made finding the noise floor impossible if you try to record anything. I think I had the original versions of these, pictures for reference, there are newer versions. In the new ones, I have no way of knowing if the noise issue was solved. I opened mine up to see if there was any simple fix with shielding I could do and found the amps were of the cheapest possible construction all hot glued together. I sold mine at quite a loss on Ebay. You can probably pick a pair up cheap there if you want them, which if you fancy recording or music listening, then I recommend passing. They aren't bad for just games and movies, they are detailed enough to really hear what's going on even when the sound gets complex, or you play a game with a video going or chat etc. But noise floor is a problem and anyone saying it's not is lying to you.
