ApcarpenIt's not. The bolt (even the short one) is at least 0.5" longer. The bolt also has along taper, maybe about 1" long. It goes from the body diameter to the tip diameter.
The Refyne is pretty much just a cylinder with a screw on tip.
I own both. I carry the Refyne (titanium) everyday. I like the length and the relatively constant diameter. There is a slight "taper" on the Refyne that you can't see, but you can feel it (at least on mine). I will admit that I'm not a huge fan of the inner copper sleeve - would prefer that it was the same material as the pen, but the form factor (for me) is hard to beat.
Picture below - TT Bolt on the left, Refyne on the right.
It doesn't appear to have any chamfer. I've never really noticed it to be sharp.
To be honest, now looking at it pretty closely, I'm going to guess that it's just a standard threaded TORX cylinder head screw. I've never had to take a screwdriver to it though, you can twist it pretty easily with your fingers.
Warlock983Good write up, and true for the version you have. Have you seen the latest version? It is much more cylindrical and the bolt travel is half of the original, plus has a flat top. I was struck by how similar they look now!
ApcarpenOh man! No, I didn't know they got redesigned! Thanks for the heads up!!
I might have to give it a shot with that mini - they do look quite similar!
Nothing like tossing will another $100 :P.
Apcarpenpretty sure i kickstarted this pen before the TT was redesigned. I definitely don't think of this as a TT copy.
TT is a nicer pen, but costs more. Both have their merits.
