Whenever a company discounts their "premium" watches by thousands of dollars, that's a sure sign to stay away. Let's be honest, there is no way the actual price for this watch is $2500 when they are selling it for $509
UnwisefoolI dont think "stay away" is an appropriate response to a highly discounted watch. You can get an Omega PO for ~3K below the MSRP of $7700 in the grey market, would you still pass the same judgement?
For a luxury watch brand, discounts can damage its name/prestige, making it harder to sell its watches at MSRP. Although most Swiss watch brands, such as LVMH, Richemont, Swatch etc, wont admit to it, they, however, tacitly work with grey market dealers, in order to increase sales and secure some leverage over grey market dealers.
This strategy of discounted grey market products can have some benefits,: Not only does this strategy push products that otherwise would not sell, when demand falls, to price conscious buyers, but also benefits with free brand visibility, for example this Revue Thommen sale......hell, I never knew this brand existed until its first drop on MD.
ColorBlindTheir website doesn't even work anymore. If I'm not mistaken, they were bought by another company a few years back and the manufacturing was changed. Can anyone confirm these are actually bronze and not plated? If you want a good quality bronze watch for roughly the same price, check out helberg/h20 watches
UnwisefoolFool like your name suggests. Go out on any botiques or authorized dealers of Revue Thommen and I assure you you'll see them being sold for thousands of dollars. You better keep your mouth shut rather than give false information.
ColorBlindI understand that. The omega is basically on sale for around 40% off. But this company is offering the watches at 80% off, that means the MSRP is grossly inflated.
UnwisefoolYou are terribly misinformed. I will assume you do not know much about other watch brands.
website is www.grovana-rt.com
and this is a $2k Revue Thommen
Unwisefoolalso apologies for the harsh comments, I got a bit out of hand. Anyway saying it can be found in walmart doesn’t mean anything. Have you heard of Jacob & Co. watches? They can also be found at walmart. Also sites like Drop and the others are considered Grey Market Dealers. They do not offer Manufacturer’s Warranty.
here are a few examples of Authorized Dealers

11thdandruffYour website link doesn't work, just FYI. I have and have had more expensive watches than these, so I do know a little bit about the watch scene. My daily is a $3k Sinn. You don't see their watches being discounted by 80%. When a company's products are selling for 20% of the MSRP, whether on the grey market or not, it cheapens the brand. And it means that the MSRP is way too high if they can sell for such a steep discount. If you like the watches, that's great, it looks nice and I hope you enjoy it for many years to come. I'm not going to argue further with you guys about this, hope everyone has a happy holiday season.
UnwisefoolTrue, I'm just pointing out that Revue Thommen is a good brand with heritage. These are not your typical ebay brands with fake heritage or massively reduced MSRP's like the current Invictas. These are legit good watches that aren't able to sell well in ADs that's why they get dumped in the grey market. Saying RT has "grossly" inflated MSRP is just not agreeable, as shown in the links I provide.
Anyway, happy holidays!

11thdandruffAlso, Meistersinger, Porsche Design, Baume & Mercier, a few others are deeply discounted also so the argument is invalid. Unless you see these brands as having grossly inflated SRPs
https://swissluxurywatches.ch/product-category/revue-thommen/?orderby=price-desc In a nutshell, saying their MSRP is inflated is a blatant misinformed statement.
