With it’s long, slender blade and handle, the Rough Rider Thin Man is aptly named. This svelte construction is also what makes it such a joy to carry as it won’t take up too much space in your pocket and it’s great for getting into tight areas Read More

Most of the time, Massdrop hits on all levels...sometimes they do not. Sadly, the Rough Rider Thin Man is one of the later. When closed, the knife is oddly bulky, given how thin it is. Likely due to how heavy the knife is...again, odd, given its slender physique. Difficult to open, both thanks to the uncomfortable thumb stud and the wretchedly tight and sticky hinge. And the most damnable part...for as heavy the knife is, the blade is super thin and has the feeling it might break under even a moderate workload. Yes...I know, Massdroppers...you get what you paid for. And yes, this knife is certainly cheap. But that definitely extends to the quality. More "Midnight Liquor Store" knife that the kind of curated quality I've become accustomed to on Massdrop.
Thumb disc is too close to the liner but even if it was in a better location MY knife would still not open due to the fact that the blade was over tightened from the factory. I would has loosened it but the pivot screw was Pre Stripped and was lock tighted anyway. It's best attribute is it's looks, It looks like an over sized nail clipper. This knife is a total waste of steel, buy it and you will regret it even for five bucks. Better knives are sold at gas stations IMO. Not worth one star but I had to in order to post this review, Lame!
This is a cheap knife and works for what I use it for. It doesn’t hold a sharp edge for long but when it does have an edge it is great for cutting boxes at work.
