How would this compare to something like the Hakko Digital FX888D & CHP170 Bundle? I'm wondering because I'd like to start into the world of soldering and a good soldering iron is no small purchase. What would be the advantages and disadvantages of this compares to a full soldering station?

maybeksbI have a Hakko FX-888D. It is very nice. The color scheme they have is odd, but that doesn't affect the function. It gets hot quickly and stays hot - something that is quite important when soldering. If it doesn't get hot enough or stay hot, you can't solder. The Hakko goes 50 to 480ºC and looks much more robust, is from a trusted company with a great support network. You can get supplies almost anywhere.
