Pretty sure this color/version found its way here for the reasons noted by other commenters—it’s the ugly stepchild of an otherwise very nice Seiko lineup. You should buy one to demonstrate your sympathy and compassion. Don’t turn away—ugly Seikos need love too!

RayFUgly or not, they sure sold out quick. 25 of them in under a few hours. The dial design is pretty cool to me, but I just never liked pvd coating. On my version it’s just the outer ring of the bezel and the crown, which I like.

WatchyoutalkingaboutI knew you'd like it--I ordered one for your birthday. Meantime, as much as I Iike blue, I still haven't found a blue dial watch I like, sufficient to make me buy one; speaking of affordable watches with blue dials, of course. I keep looking though... As to the quick sell through, I imagine whomever Drop's source is for Seikos just bought too many of this flavor and offered them up to MD for a quick turn.

WatchyoutalkingaboutPVD would have been nicer, as it would have been real black like the limited edition black turtle that now costs two legs and a wheelchair to get. This is just ion blasted, which gives it a dark grey look rather than black.

AleskbNever saw how black and blue worked as color combination—maybe in a fist-fight, not as much in a watch.

RayFSeems appropriate to me, as a thick watch with nicely dented bezel can come very useful in a fist fight - particularly if a cheap one with an easily replaceable movement. Only regret is the lack of applied "Seiko" logo on the bezel, a missed opportunity to tatoo the logo on oponent's forehead during said fight.
