You're implying a product Made in Korea is inferior to the ones made in Japan? Lol mind you Made in Japan doesn't mean it's always better than products made in other countries, especially Korea.
fx35sThey're all made in the exact same location. The made in Korea, Japan part has to do with the final destination. Some countries want the location of final assembly, where the movement is from, or whatever they happen to fancy at the moment. There is is no real difference
SubaruI'm afraid that's incorrect, you are repeating an oft-repeated internet fallacy.
The J or K designation denotes the final destination of the watch, in other words, the intended market. As such, the day wheel, if present, will differin language depending on the region. As mentioned by @SpiritOne , it is an economical impossibility to manufacture these cheap mechanicals in Japan.
Before you counter with a post describing how the J series have the words "Made in Japan" printed on the dial/caseback, I would advise a quick Google search that will answer that query handily.
SubaruSorry but I don't see the point of your message.
Your two watches are pure JDM pieces, higher end with the 6R15 calibers, made in Japan, and with the equivalently higher price tag to match. Neither of them are designated "J" either.
The piece discussed here is a cheap, international, low end piece with basic 7S26 caliber. The K designation usually has the day in English and Roman numerals, while the J often has them in Arabic and Roman numerals. Do you think they're making them in Japan exclusively for the Arabic market?
So of course your two pieces have better quality. Why else would they cost 8-10x more than a basic Seiko 5, and who would buy them otherwise?
Please don't follow this up with a Grand Seiko post to try and demonstrate Japanese superiority again, which no one is questioning. Instead, address the issue at hand and post proof of your assertion that the J designation is truly made in Japan, and not just obeying the law in the Arabic marketplace that requires them to denote the country of origin of the company, rather than the place of manufacture.
Isn't it the same model? <$140 with free shipping plus tax. Cheaper than MassDrop lol
