RayFI stop my quartz watches when I take them off because there's nothing more annoying than strapping them on after not wearing them for a while (in my case often a year or more) and finding them dead, dead, dead. This Seiko is a very cool watch but as I'm about to start my 70th year, I'd have to keep a Jeweler's loupe in my pocket to read it.

I'm with you on the aging eyes thing--been wearing glasses since my late thirties and things haven't improved since. I mainly use my Flightmaster to check the time--the rest of the functions are just window dressing.
Hey--that gives me an idea! What if we have our watch crystals reground to the same Rx as our glasses?!!!

mcloseAnd that's why my only two quartz watches are solar-powered (an all-analog Casio Edifice EQSA500DB-1AV, and all-digital Casio Pro-Trek PRG330-1; hey, I didn't come up with the model names here, so lay off ;-). It also means I no longer have to deal with ham-fisted "watchmakers" mauling my watches to change a damned battery…I've had about $500 in watches go up in smoke that way.

No it's a 20mm (you can't get 22s between the lugs); and no, there's no noticeable gap using a 20mm.
However, even using a 20mm strap, especially a thicker ZULU, you still have to switch to curved spring bars because Seiko drilled the spring bar holes extremely close to the case itself--there's not much room to play with.

RayFAwesome! Thanks! I read on a WatchUSeek forum that you could smash a 22mm strap on it, but it's never worked for me. I did have a 20mm milanese bracelet, but it had to much play back and forth. Key is the curved spring bars. Right now I have it on a 21mm leather strap and a 21mm silicone strap as a backup.

It's true--you can find odd size straps and bracelet (now and then) and when they fit, life is good.
Otherwise, curved bars are the ticket.
