Cost depends on whether Sennheiser or Drop is having a sale. Which is better is up to you… this is over simplifying things, but the HD 560S has a more flat “reference” analytical tuning and angled drivers, so it may be easier to perceive details and soundstage, while the HD 58X Jubilee has louder midbass and a “fun / colored” intimate sound. I’d say “different in a good way” applies here too, and I’d also personally pick either (or both, they compliment each other pretty well) over the HD 558 or 598.
Is it just me or is Drop's website glitching? It says I earn 2,200 rewards points, instead of the correct 220 points I should earn. Well, I guess I shouldn't be complaining about it.
How do these compare to the 58X Jubilee (besides comfort) for gaming? I game with 38X and I'm using an external mic anyway so I'm hoping for better clarity/situational awareness with footsteps etc not music.
They don't, they compare more with the 38X than the 58x. Basically if you are using the 38X for gaming while there are differences & improvements you wont notice them unless you compare over a longer time & even then you will realize you wasted your money "upgrading". If you want something more in line with the 58X for gaming (fun but not 100% accurate) maybe look towards Philips X2. IF you want something inbetween the 58X & 38X try the AKG K712 It's "inner" (Close) soundstage is not always accurate for range but its larger outter soundstage is.
