I don't understand what these are useful for. They're waterproof so chances are your feet will sweat more and get moist anyway. And if you're wearing these inside non-waterproof shoes, the shoes will still get soaked and heavy and unpleasant.

anujayaI don't know about these socks, but back in the day (20+ years) I had a pair of waterproof socks, Cabela's branded I believe, and perhaps they were even Goretex. Anyway, they worked well as a conditional use item; cooler wet weather, hiking below the ridges through puddles and stream crossings where total submersion is avoided (rock hopping) or very brief, and for short periods of time - maybe 3-4 hours max. They kept my feet far drier than they would have been, and ventilated hiking boots purge themselves of excessive water rapidly while on the move, giving the socks a bit of a chance to breath. Once or twice I thought I felt a leak but upon removing the socks I saw that wasn't the case. These socks, if they are of good quality, should work for the right individual under the right circumstances, but I don't think anyone will want to stand in water all day in these or any other sock. Nowadays I prefer sandals, with or without socks, for the same conditions I described above.

Brett919I could see how that'd be a potential use case. I guess I'd still prefer just having a good pair of waterproof shoes so which are more flexible in the use cases.

anujayaI personally wouldn't use these to hike in. What they are very useful for is camp footwear if you dont want to bring along a pair of camp shoes. They are also useful if you are forced to put on a pair of soaking wet boots. Even though you might sweat depending on the circumstances, its better than having a wet foot all day.

anujayaI actually would be interested in them so I could wear them with my cleats while playing in snow. Right now most people that I play with layer a plastic shopping bag over their socks and wear those in their cleats.
