This product does seem to have an internal rechargeable battery. It is listed on the Sony website as having that feature.

I will research this more as @Yakov's experience shows us otherwise.

It seems that in the "Internal Rechargeable Battery" category, where they would normally put the battery specs, they say "AC power adapter" instead. That seems to be where the confusion comes from.
