Sony took 15 minutes to do it and the setup instructions differed greatly from the paper insert. I set up a cheaper Plantronics headset in one minute last year. The instructions are very poor. And Sony agrees.
jzizmorPage after page of unboxings and reviews on YouTube with one 2 minute pairing tutorial that worked great. Several showed very thorough written instructions with graphics that came inside the box. None of them had any trouble with the simple set up process using the included illustrated instructions. Of course Sony agreed, they had a poor lost princess tying up a customer service phone line and agent.
”Did you try powering off, and then powering on the device?”
jzizmorThe process of setting up the headphones are very straightforward, and fairly in-line with any other bluetooth earbuds or headphones that you would buy. Perhaps Sony's instruction were terrible, but given you have experience setting up headphones in the past, it's not fair to the product that you give it a 1-star review. Remember, the reviews are for the product. If you feel like as a package, it's lacking due to the instructions manual, that's fair. Give it 4 stars. But a 1-star review means that the instructions manual is allocated so much of the product's value, to you, that a terrible manual means the product itself is terrible, which it definitely isn't.
I used Sony’s words not mine. They knew what I did and also said extra steps needed with an iPhone.

jzizmorI'm talking about your rating. If you truly believe the headphones to be bad, then sure, give it a 1-star rating. If your problem is with the set up instructions, regardless if the words posted were yours or Sony's, but the headphones themselves were good, then a 1-star review is uncalled for. Ethical reviews aside, this is misinformation that could affect the purchase decision of someone who could have otherwise purchase a great set of headphones.
