WeirdGProblem with that, ROMs are considered illegal under the DMCA. Would make it hard to market the product physically without raising a few eyebrows.

Jared.RhodesROMs are only considered illegal if you don't already own the game, if you can prove that you have the actual game, you can have ROMs, as for me for example, I have LoZ and a few others that I have in hardware version, but my systems have been dead for a long time.

WVEricPThat's kind of a myth. It hasn't been tested in court if that's true or not, but game companies don't really go after people for ROMs.

Jared.RhodesExcept there are several consoles which ship with emulators. Emulators are legal and while the roms are grey area legally if you buy something and obtain your own roms the liability falls to you and not the company selling the device. kroenIt's not the same. I logged thousands of hours playing NES when I was a child, and you can't compare the ghetto experience of an NES controller to a modern bluetooth NES controller. The expectation is completely different.

kroenDepends on where you lived I guess. Everyone I knew had an NES growing up, and we all came from blue collared families. My family was a first generation Canadian family, so my folks had better ways to spend their money. I remember my dad got an awesome deal on an NES at one of the grocery stores. Before owning, my brother would always rent an NES.
By ghetto I mean, that craptastic feel of an NES controller. It's a shitty controller, and your hand would constantly cramp up, but playing NES games without doesn't feel right. I still have the timings down for several NES games using that controller. I tried playing on PC, mobile devices, the Ouja, etc., and nothing feels rights compared to an NES controller. Can't wait for Nintendo to release Classic NES in November.

WeirdGI hear you. Why would any sane person spend $60 for a single current gen game when the same money can buy 30 games+the hardware to run them+controller is beyond me.

kroenlol.... it depends on the gamer. I know my nephews won't care for it, since they were born during the Wii era, but I know I'll play it and savour every moment. Just wish it was coming with a few more sports games, like Blades of Steel and Arch Rivals.
