A new kind of fidget toy, the Orbiter from TEC Accessories will keep you entertained for hours on end. Featuring a neodymium magnet sandwiched between 6AL4V titanium end caps, it has a steel ball that magnetically circles its outer edges, like a moon orbiting a planet Read More
I already own a TEC Orbiter in orange aluminum and wanted this one for my EDC. The quality is outstanding. The magnet holds perfectly and the finishes are pocket friendly. I’ll order again from TEC/Drop when there’s a good deal like this one.
I bought a cheap Chinese knock off first to see if this was something I'd benefit from. The TEC one is infinitely superior. I even use it in ways that aren't shown in the promotional video, though I have to admit that using it as spinning top hadn't occurred to me.
Might get a couple more for multiple spaces when it comes up again so I don't feel the need to carry it around.
I like this fidget device. I’m partial to magnets so it is in my wheelhouse. Sometimes I feel like the magnet could be a little stronger since when I’m spinning it the ball will fly off. Not a deal breaker except it is pretty heavy and I have a glass desktop, so it gets a little scary. I find myself playing with it a lot while on the phone and during Skype meetings. Also when studying, it helps keep me occupied. Overall a pretty nice fidget device, although a little pricey, but hey, I deserve it!
Not at all what I expected. Idk what you’re supposed to do with it. The magnets aren’t really strong enough to do much with it. Really wish I would’ve just saved my money on this one.
Delivery was fast and as expected. Product... not so much. Received and within 2 minutes the ball flew off and is never to be seen again.
I got the product out of its packaging (nice packaging) and put the ball on the top. I saw that it was not a very powerful magnet on the top, switched it to the bottom, same result. I would not recommend fidgeting with this thing with it on the top or bottom.
Placed the ball on its side, as instructed... it holds. Started spinning, and wow, this thing is loud. After spinning for about 30 seconds, the ball flew off and will never be seen again. Kind of sucks to throw the money down the drain, all I can do is write an honest review.
TL:DR; Magnet is weak, ball was lost.
I took off a star as I found the central magnet that holds the steel bearing a bit weak whether used on the back bearing directly or in the concave indentation on the disc. I've lost the bearing a few times trying to spin the bearing along the magnet.
If they made it stronger, it'd be perfect.
