Just a little background on these for folks who are thinking about getting a set. These IEM's were first put on an overseas website and sold out in hours. Why? Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews did a review of these and also posted them to his Discord channel. All us "bass-heads" bought the lot (I missed the first lot by..."that much!"). I got in on the 2nd shipment at the end of August. These are for bass-heads or folks that like a good, solid low-end. If you want to know more about them, hit You Tube - Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews - Thor Mjölnir - A new gem for bass lovers. No one likes to buy something without some sort of reference or review so, take a look at the review and then decide. Just trying to help out folks. Not pimping anything here.

Smoker65Beggar is well known to be a hawker for everything Linsoul, so I’d rather wait for reviews from end users, such as yourself.

LGCiFirst off, I appreciate the comment. I will follow-up, when I get them with a mini-review of the set. That said, I'm not a "blind follower" of anyone. Some reviewers are good and some, pure hawk. I just happen to agree with Beggar on a lot of his choices as I, like him, prefer a DD driver over a BA (the trips coming out now, 2-BA and one DD seem pretty darn good to me). His music choices are also very similar to mine (old school rock, R&B dude I am) so I take what he says over what some others say because he fits my musical preference and sound signature. I am a "bass-head" and love a down and dirty rhythm section. Others, rightfully so, disagree and I am more than fine with that. Music is a very personal choice (almost religious) and I respect the heck out of that. The only reason for my initial comment was so folks who were thinking about getting a set had something to reference. I believe Beggar is the only one who has reviewed the set (that I can find). Honestly, just trying to help. Money is tight for folks these days and ordering something with no reference at all can be scary for some folks. Seriously, just trying to help.

Smoker65If your taste aligns with him then the only issue with him being a Linsoul fan is he won’t be able to drain your wallet as efficiently...

LGCiI agree with you, I have bought things that Z says is the endgame, only to go, wait, these hurt my ears, and he says he has big ears, and then I have bought things that Beggar "loves" only to go... meh. This is not to say that some of their recommendations are not good, it is too hard to sort them out. I figure, if it is good, they will still be making it in a year or more, not 1 or even 3 "limited edition" runs before they move on to something else, so now I wait, and see, and see what people like you think, not people who receive them the manufacturer or seller to "pre-review" what might not even be the thing that actually ships. Both of the ones I have mentioned have "rushed one out" just before a launch a time or two, then look for the things now...

Smoker65How in the world do you prefer stinky dynamic drivers over BA for rnb??? Old school rock?? Just stop lol.
pilezbeggar has a tier list google spreadsheet and z has a collab website between him and someone else if you find things that are on both it'll have better odds but not everyone has the same tastes :) the more reviews you can find on something the better and from what I can tell these aren't limited runs (if these are what you were refering to) the guy handmakes them in small batches and is now backed by linsoul after doing it out of a garage basically for a year

Smoker65Anyone who will believesthat a $200 IEM is going to be on par with a $2000 IEM deserves to be disappointed. When the reviewer in question indicates that a Linsoul or whatever is a great performer, there is always that context, i.e., "for the money." I bought a Blon-BL03 based partly on his review and hey, it ain't a Sony IEM-Z1R, but for $35 and investment in some new ear tips, it's a fun product. I might just take a chance on the "Thor." And I am 95% certain that no, it's not a pure Beryllium driver, seeing that Dunu charges $1699 for the Luna.
GrandNagusyeah I like how a lot of people that say they gave up on iem's were comparing $200-300ish earbuds to $1000+ headphones like no that's not a fair comparison lol

GrandNagusCan't be because of beryllium price. I'm guessing that my $400 set of Ping beryllium cooper golf clubs, would have enough beryllium for about a 100 thousand sets. Currently pure beryllium is $5.30 a gram. Beryllium must be difficult to manufacture as a driver?

LGCiIf it makes any difference to you, bggar discovered the set and put the creator in contact with linsoul. I see your point of view though. I just don't agree with it.

League544I have not heard any BA only IEM that can reproduce bass like a good dynamic driver. This is why most IEM's these days are hybrids or even tribrids. Pure BA is so old IEM school.

bkcoolerBeryllium copper is only 2% beryllium. Or less. A set of pure Beryllium golf clubs, assuming half a cubic foot volume = 1 set of golf clubs, would come to ~$130,000 USD in raw material cost. Your golf clubs are 300x cheaper because they are an alloy, not because Beryllium is cheap. Acquiring small amounts of pure Beryllium, ready to cast from a company like Materion would be difficult. Most suppliers wouldn't bother with an order that small. Then assuming you don't have the ability to cast it yourself you have to contract someone to cast... a microns thin film shaped into a dome, to be sold in a consumer audio product instead of... aerospace, scientific instrumentation, nuclear power, x-ray equipment and the multitude of other applications that demand high prices for critical applications, then you may begin to see why the economies of scale do not work in favor of a pure beryllium loudspeaker of any size. It's more likely AlBeMet or similar alloy or a coating of a standard polymer. unless he has found a remarkably cheap supplier of small quantities of beryllium foil.
