I'm curious about these, mainly because they've received many positive reviews. But how do these really compare? To things like etymotics, the massdrop plus? Things like sound signature, soundstage, etc. Mainly looking for something neutral or warm neutral.

dwang040warmer than Massdrop+ (Less upper mid shout) but more extended in the treble (There's a peak beyond the mids, but it doesn't bother me). Bass is way more textured and frankly less obnoxious than the MD+. Just received a used pair, it's neutral and natural however it is not tuned for reference. Mids are forward in the mix but in general the T88k are content to envelop you as opposed to pinpointing the exactly location of sounds in the wide soundstage.

HelpbotThanks for the reply. Very late now but still good information. Though, I did end up getting CA Fibae Blacks instead of other options. How are the highs, are they kinda rolled off/ have a warmish presence (if that makes sense). I personally can't stand very high frequency for long periods of time and get fatigued easily.

dwang040The highs are present by not overly so, they roll off after 5-6k I would say (I've heard the hd700 and elex so I'm guessing from my experience here) . Wouldn't call the treble warm but these IEMs can subtle enough if you just lower the volume. They are balanced well enough (for most genres) that if you fiddle with the volume you should find the ideal level where your music sounds realistic and not harsh at all. Like others have said, no matter how high I raise the volume I don't hear any sibilance. The worst frequency offenders in the treble have been quelled, but there is definitely some sparkle. They remind me a bit of the elex but tuned better, the elex is forward even at the 5k mark then begins to Roll off (thus some sibilance) . The T88k I hear a slight mid peak then a cut/valley then another peak in the treble and then a roll off.

Helpbotthe last thing I wanted to point out is that the best feature of these IEMS for the price is definitely the soundstage, which is deep and wide. Sounds constantly begin behind my head, and the depth of the soundstage makes me question if sounds are originating in real life rather than in the Iems. These qualities, paired with the natural/realistic tone of the T88k suspend your belief to the point when you take them off you just want to put them back on!
