This is an excellent amp for how much it is. And it has basically everything you need, powerful enough for most headphones. I have been using it for a month now, no complaints.
Man this thing is great. I’m coming from OTL and hybrid only experience with amps (Valhalla 2 and Vali 3) but I wanted something that I wouldn’t feel like I was wasting tube juice on for gaming. Especially since gaming sessions typically go on much longer than listening sessions which is an important thing for tube gamers to realize. I’ve never felt more aware of my surroundings gaming with my ATH X Apos R70X refines. Valorant with this combo is dreamy, I hate the term end game but I can’t imagine a better gaming experience. Now for music; as an average consumer I feel as though I’m missing nothing that I would get from an OTL while listening to any genre of music. It may take more time but as of now, I’m happy to just use this amp for both gaming and music. The clarity, the separation, the crispness, it’s there in spades. I don’t know if you’d need anything more than this for just about any headphone. I’ve seen reviews say that this amp struggles with things such as the Susvara, I’ve also seen otherwise, but let’s be honest, you probably aren’t looking at this thing if you are in the market for $6k headphones, but even if you are, some still say this is fine. For most all of us mortals this quite literally could be the last amp you buy until the next big generational leap in audiophile technology occurs. Until then, A30 pro for $150 on sale is my “end game” *cringe* gaming and casual listening solution.
groundsnakeI just got myself a Valhalla and was wondering if I should get one of these as a solid-state complement. Your positive review and the picture showing both side by side convinced me to do it 😅
Delivers exceptional audio quality that exceeds expectations. Clean, transparent sound signature, it brings out the best in any pair of headphones, offering a wide soundstage, precise imaging, and incredible detail across the entire frequency range. The A30 Pro’s impressive power output easily drives even the most demanding headphones, ensuring a dynamic and engaging listening experience.
Build quality is top-notch, with a sleek, solid design that exudes durability. The amp's versatile input and output options make it highly adaptable, fitting seamlessly into any audio setup. Whether you're a casual listener or a dedicated audiophile, the A30 Pro offers an unbeatable combination of performance, versatility, and value.
Stellar headphone amplifier that delivers professional-grade sound and reliability.
-Has been a pleasure to use, a truly amazing amount of power, up to 6w of single ended power is unheard of.
-Single ended power means no need to invest in balanced headphone cables and makes it perfact for some of the harder to drive 600ohm byerdynamic headphones that do not have a balanced cable as an option (DT880 600 ohm / T1 600 ohm)
-Super clean un-coloured sound
-Classy looks
-The huge 28db range in the gain selection is really nice, gives a lot of flexibility to use both in-ears and hard to drive headphones, the high gain setting (+14db) is great if you are stuck with a very quiet recording or other low volume source, while the low gain setting (-14db) prevents any sort of hiss or noise on even the most sensitive in ear headphones.
This can drive ARGONS Mk II without any hesitation. I really like the looks of the stack. It does get warm even on low volumes. I really like the jump of power from a non balanced stack.
