These kinda seem like a terrible idea. There are no cleats at contact points of the foot. Seems great if someone just plants you somewhere and says don’t move but I am not sure how this could be helpful in any other way.

DetexThat's exactly my question—what's the point of something that helps you grip on the one part of your foot you don't actively distribute your weight?

eponymousHell, even if they attached in a better position they're still going to be way too loosely coupled. No way that it doesn't shift and twist under hundreds of pounds of force in the horizontal directions under load. This might help you walk on an icy sidewalk, if you don't mind it jabbing into your arch because the spikes are too long for that. That's about it.

TelanisClearly, the solution is to buy 20 pairs and just tessellate them across the entire sole. Speaking as someone who lives somewhere with icy sidewalks, by the way, I don't think they'd help for that, either—same weight distribution issues.

DetexWouldn't these actually be painful on the arch as well ? Titanium can also be brittle, this positioning would put a great deal of inconsistent stress on them.
