Will this be compatible with macOS Sierra? My guess is no, since it's not a VA87MR?

PlateauMight not be fully Mac compatible, but in Sierra - it at least does everything I've tried so far. Granted, it's only been unboxed for about an hour, so far so good. The light controls work, function keys do what they are supposed to, and all I had to do was swap the windows / alt keys to get the same layout as the default mac keyboard.
So far I'm happy!

DicedIcehttps://9to5mac.com/2016/03/17/how-to-remap-windows-keyboard-buttons-match-mac-layout/ has a simple guide on swapping the Command and Option keys. For anything more than this, you'll have to download a helper app or modify settings config files manually, for example: https://github.com/tekezo/Karabiner-Elements/blob/master/README.md - which I *haven't* tried myself.

jguffeyHey, thanks for the advice on switching the mac layout. I just had a question on compatibility, does the board work with your Mac, and if so how well? I've been reading that the VA87M doesn't work well with Sierra OS, since you've received yours and have a mac I was hoping you could answer it.

DicedIceSo far, it's been working. I'm using it right now! I write software for work, and used it at the office last Friday, and loved it. However I've noticed a problem with keyboard shortcuts that use more than 2 keys. For example, Option + Command + Esc does not launch the "Force Quit" dialog, and Command + Shift + S won't "Save All". Another issue is that the default Apple Keyboards allow me to move the text cursor forward / backwards per word (via ⌥ ← and ⌥→) but when using this keyboard that trick doesn't work anymore, sort of a big issue for me w/ my job.
I still love the feel of this keyboard, so I've got plans to look into Karbiner and other methods of restoring or replacing this functionality so that I can keep using this as my primary keyboard. It's my first experience with Mech Keys, and now I think I'm hooked.

jguffeySo- I keep learning new things. It turns out that my theory about simultaneous 3 + key presses was incorrect. I noticed that I could still use the key combos to switch tabs in chrome. So I re-ran the "Identify Keyboard" tool, and realized that the left option key wasn't picking up and after hitting the right option key a few times, it is now working as expected (I can move the cursor by word again!). So just incase anyone else is following this thread - it seems that my issue was software related.

eubenesaI haven't tried karbiner-elements yet, so I don't know how well it works. I've been sticking with just the key overrides that OSX provides in Settings, which are good enough for me.
Let me know if karbiner-elements works for you, I might be interested in giving it a shot if you recommend it. I caught myself today trying to use `Insert` as `Fn`.
