I googled the supposedly Seiko movement, and learned it is actually an Orient, not a Seiko movement, from a company partly owned by Seiko. Doesn't mean it isn't good.

Rob4747I have a few Orients and they are as good as Seiko. Only difference is the quality of bezel, clasp, etc.

Rob4747The movement is made by Seiko Epson, part of the Seiko Holdings parent, who also own Seiko SII and Seiko Watch. Although independent of each other, they are all Seiko. Orient is part of the Seiko Epson group, and uses watch movement developed as part of Seiko Epson group Seiko Epson is also responsible for the vintage King Seiko movements if I recall correctly. The 2 companies (Seiko-epson and SII) pushed each other on design, each benefitting from the advances made by the competition. I found 1 article that mentions that this particular movement may be related to the Orient movement in their M-Force watches, but haven't been able to find much otherwise about the movement.
