I didn't get the filter with this, because it's overpriced and does nothing. The box contained a note saying there was complaints about the glue used on the bottom, but mine had no smell. However, this is probably because there isn't much. Even just having this around the house, the bottom has started peeling.
I bought this bottle under the assumption I could use it as an everyday bottle, but I wouldn't reccomend it for anybody. It holds a lot of liquid, but being non-dishwasher safe, it makes it almost impossible to clean the bottom of the bottle. The lid has a very deep threading, so it's ALSO impossible to clean inside it. Basically, anything other than extremely clean water will cause dirty buildup. Having a double-walled bottle for JUST water seems like overkill, seeing how accessible cold water is.
