Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

1) the headphone stand is unfinished - not as advertised in pictures 2) unevenly sanded - one of the 'feet' where you can see the layers of laminated wood is at about a 5-10* angle with the flat surface, 3) pulling the stand out of the bag, a ton of line/fiber from the material has become stuck in various nicks and scratches on the stand - there is 0% change i'm dropping my HDs on there and risking fabric damage to the pads 4) random cosmetic scratches
i can deal with putting finish on the thing myself, even sanding it down, but having to put band-aids on shoddy craftsmanship isn't what we were paying for... especially when the quality was promised to be excellent and the vendor/massdrop did not deliver
I am sure that plenty of other users have similar issues, but after sending me the wrong color whillas & gunn rucksack on another recent drop, I will NOT be dealing with massdrop until they mature a little more as a company.
As you mention I just can't understand why Massdrop would continually assure us these were going to be of amazing quality without checking these before they went out.
What they are doing is having these stands made for them in China for pennies, and then selling us the shotty garbage. I hope they respond to my above question soon, because I want to know how to return these when I get them.
Anyone know if massdrop pays the return shipping on defects? I sure as hell shouldn't be paying return shipping on a defective item.
