j0hnnythanks for the support on these comments. letting you know that this company is a piece of shit, doesn't stand by the products they make (and notoriously lie on 'featuers' and promised firmware 'update' that don't work). Best thing to do is to close the account.
drop started off as a community website now they're just scumbags
Pretty sure you’re talking out of your arse. Define “great”. Great for what? Great for your crappy set up that doesn’t need more than 110 mW @32ohms? Just stop. I have the Plus. I know Xduoo products inside out. Geezus.
I bought one in jan 2021 and the Bluetooth stopped working about 6 months later of light use. Xduoo offered a repair but I had to mail the unit to china and haven't received it back yet. On the Xduoo forums there are plenty of people with the same problem.
I'd recommend to stay away from this one, stick with the xd05 if you really want a similar form factor. Reason? This drop costs the same as it is on its own website, and the many problems people had with it's bluetooth "switched on" but no devices can see it.
I don't think you understand the term "similar". It's not the same but it's close. Of course the unbalanced xd05 basic and plus doesn't come with bluetooth built in and thus requiring an additional module, which of course changes the size. All differences aside, the new xd05 balanced seem to be a lot better in terms of features.
I own XP2 Pro for a couple of months and can say several words. First, it's a great product that has no competitors for those price point. BTR5 and UP4 have much less power (I don't want to spend extra $70 for a balance cable for my HE-400i 2020), Q5S costs three times the price.
The sound is excellent: punchy on high level and more airy on low one.
BUT
Bluetooth died after a month of use, so I asked XDuoo for a replacement and waiting for a delivery from China. I found a lot of complaints on XDuoo's forum about the same issue
SO
I guess XDuoo had or have had some issues, that's why it's not so popular yet.
Furthermore, I hope the problem will solve and if it's not. Oh gosh, BEWARE!
If it's not, I will go for BTR5 with balanced wire :(
Oh, I thought you were blaming it on the amp. You are probably better off buying a small DAC if the phone’s DAC/amp is junk. I don’t know what phone you have but even the cheap Apple dongle isn’t dark (or bright for that matter). Something like the HiDizs S8 combined with that E12 should be fantastic! In fact that’s exactly what I use with the exact headphones.
for me, recording into a voice recording app, audio only came out of my right ear, but in calls it worked fine. are you using the right jack on the device with the right cable? I assume there would be some conflict if you were using a cable with a mic on it, in the jack designated for an audio only cable. my results were using an audio only cable in the audio only jack. the jack on the edge is audio only, while the middle one is for cables with mics, which also disables the volume control of the knob.
KlaordIt's my understanding that the device itself can't receive input via the headphone jack, that it only gets it via it's on board mic, so then it's all bluetooth related. I've tried to get the mic input to pass along with nothing connected to the XP2-Pro, With a headset cable that is for audio out only and also a cable that supports both audio out and mic in. None of them have changed how my device works when in call mode. It's just dead silence. It's recognizing it's in call mode because it will pause my music that is playing.
(Edit: I'm plugging the headset into the left most jack on the devcie)
300mW at 32ohms? That’s like... an E1AD 9038S dongle? Weaker actually. Folks, take a pass on these. You literally buy amps for power. These don’t have it. Ridiculous they would even manufacture something like this.
