THE HOLY PANDA EXPERIENCE HAS EVOLVED

more_vert
We began with discussing and finalizing the target force curve with the original Holy Panda team. We wanted the engagement point of the keypress to have a rounder, less harsh feeling to it. And lastly, we wanted to move the switch’s return to be more aggressive, coming back sooner and slightly harder. In order to achieve the target force curve, we were willing to redesign every part of the existing switch including the creation of new molds in order to create the best switch possible. We met with different switch manufacturers and discussed the goals of our project with them. Based on their impressive work with their custom switches over the years, we ultimately decided Gateron would be the best manufacturer that could help us achieve our needs. We quickly started working through combinations of custom switch housings, custom stem designs, and spring selections to obtain the force curve and feeling that we had envisioned.

if you could use the new Gateron Oil Kings top case mold that has a recession for cherry interference for cherry profiles, that'll be great

When will Real EEs and not just hobbyists start designing aftermarket keyboards. I love my keyboards. But I’m done paying 600$ For a board I want and its still the same basic a circuit I coulda designed without a degree while tinkering with what I learned in high school physics. I think it’s time I dig through qmx and find out how to add real features like wireless and things gaming keyboard fav have and beyond that. We are too complacent with a simple stm32l with a switch matrix and USB port. High schoolers can do this. I finally have the time now to be able to make real pcbs for keyboards but I’m also burned out on them and have no interest in case design to go on top of the circuit plus pcb layout and c/assembly required to do most of rhe stuff our keyboard lack. Not to mention adding it to the qmx library means I’m doing it for free and with corporations doing all they can bankrupt the world doing charity Work has gone on the back burner. last I heard qmx had no Bluetooth because of licensing issues. I designed my way around thet long time ago in industry by Just writing my own own wireless network stack based on zingby which is similar. I’d have to refresh if it’s as fast for those gamers out there that think they have the reaction speed of a pro athlete and need 369hz monitors to win the video olympics (as if video games being a sport isn’t a meme in itself). If this was five years ago I’d have the motivation. But 2020 and beyond hasnmase me more intersteeted in time machines (joke obviously befkre I’m flamed consprowcyntheorist…. Although conspiracy theories of two years Ago are coming out rapid fire As fact lately.

mad_dog_94I was going to ask the same. My brand new pudding caps will be a bit lifeless if not.

I am def biased, but I say it would be super cool if keyboard club folks got early access to ordering these (joking of course — well, maybe half joking). Very excited though!

Deadlybj7A bit late on that since we've already received our switches (those in the first batch), but go ahead tell us how it works all knowing one.
