I assure you as the designer of the keyboard it will only work properly with PCB mounted stabilizers.

This is definitely a customer issue. If you looked at the Discussions tab, this was discussed on release date (brought up by me). https://drop.com/buy/drop-cstm80-barebones-mechanical-keyboard/talk/2943554?utm_source=linkshare&referer=26UK5Z The dates were not hidden or deceptive (the plastic top case shipped earlier than estimated, the aluminum shipped within the week of the estimate). I noticed the date differences and held off on ordering the kit...
