There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. My drop was delivered a few weeks ago, but I didn't have time to install it until today. I plugged in power and SATA, and booted, and confirmed it showed up in the BIOS. When I booted to Windows 10, it wouldn't show up as an additional drive under the Disk Management tool or the Device Manager. I downloaded the Samsung drivers and "magic" utility, and even the firmware upgrade ISO -- nope, nope, and nope.
There was a random tip on a Tom's Hardware post to run the Memory Diagnostic tool under Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Windows Memory Diagnostic. This actually worked. The SSD showed up under Disk Management and I could format it as usual. WTF, Microsoft.
