Custom printed keycaps

more_vert
TL;DR: Are there any companies/websites that offer custom printed (one-off) keycaps? ----- I've been using a custom layout for a couple of years now, and recently I attached Dymo labels on a blank keycap set, but obviously that's far from perfect. It's better than using a permanent marker (and wiping it off with acetone when necessary), but the labels feel slippery, and may not last very long (I've had them for about 2 weeks now). I'm still working out a few kinks in the custom layout, but when it's "done", I might want to get a custom printed keycap set. I know WASD Keyboards offers a custom printing service (http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/printed-keycap-singles/custom-art-cherry-mx-keycaps.html), but it is super-pricey (minimum price is 6 $ per keycap). Are there any other websites that offer something similar? Some of the keycaps would be standard, so if the same website offers a regular set with the same materials and colors for cheaper, that would be a bonus. And I might not really need custom *graphics*, so if there's a site that allows custom text legend printing instead of custom graphics, that would be of interest, too. I'm not really looking for color printing, either, just custom icons. Also bonus points for printing on the front of the keycaps, although I could add those with the Dymo labels, since they wouldn't wear off or feel slippery there. Or should I just start looking into a laser engraving machine if I want custom printed keycaps without Dymo labels? Would be cheaper than a full custom keycap set from WASD Keyboards at 6 $ / keycap... And I'd pick up a new hobby. :D

http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/ My friend ordered plenty of custom printed stuff from them. You can also upload a picture and get a custom picture.

I guess if you order full layout it's cheaper. I am currently considering a custom layout from WASD or MA Keyboard, maybe we shall try writing them?

Max Keyboard, sorry for a typo. They offer full layout that is printed for your needs, so I guess they can theoretically print something a little different. Their price for one-off "print me standard layout in those colors" is not high.

As far as I know, pad printing is done in one sweep over whole layout, so printing single key takes a lot of work, printing layout only takes more material.
