have the Q701's and they have a massive soundstage which is absolutely amazing in gaming immersion. Only thing can beat these for me are the HD800's(which i also owned) but those are like 5x more costly.

Anything Sennheiser and open back. Even their closed backs, such as my HD598Cs with HM5 hybrid pads are about on par with my polyfil modded 558s. Get a bit more low end out of the closed backs, and nearly identical soundstage/imaging. I wouldn't put one above other since they're so close. I can't speak for the NEW 500 lineup but, 558, vocals front and center, acceptable soundstage. 598Cs before hybrid pads, slightly more narrowed soundstage, about identical imaging, after mod and wearing in the pads, the drivers are moved further away, scewing SOME clarity and Some bass but better soundstage than stock 558s. I drilled a 25-30mm hole in some M40Xs and adhered some passive radiators to the back that somehow did a decent job.
Pleasure gaming, V shaped frequency response, decent soundstage and imaging
Serious gaming with games that support a fantastic sound engine such as Battlefield, anything with good imaging. Soundstage matters not. Imaging will fill what void is missing from soundstage.
Music/gaming multi purpose, you'll either have to build a multi-tool, or fork out about $200. ModHouse audio maticulously engineered some adapters for Sennheiser 500 lineup. Believe me, we exchanged some emails in 2016.
ZReviews reviewed the whole new 500 lineup, you might want to check it out on YouTube.
Pleather pads, bass/warmth, narrowing sound
Velour, OPEN
Hybrid, funny mix. Add to give a little bump to depth and wideness without losing a lot of bass.

$50 more and you got yourself an HD6XX, but if that's the maximum budget, HD58x for $149.

Get something non-sealed if you are gonna use it at home. Because imaging is better on those style of headphones over sealed ones.

I personally use the Audio Technica ATH-M40X with a ModMic 5. It cost me about 150 euros in total. Great mic quality and great audio for the price.
