Plum Platz originally from my Grandma Ingredients: Base: · 1¼ cup Flour · ½ cup Sugar · 1 tsp Baking Powder · ½ tps salt · 3/8 cup Softened Butter or Margarine · 3/8 cup Milk · 1 Egg · About 30 Plums (the small blue/purple variety) Topping: · 3/4 cup Sugar · 3/4 cup Flour · ¼ pound Softened Butter or Margarine
Instructions Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Spray a pan large enough to lay out halved plums with baking spray. Cut plums in half and remove pit. Combine the Base ingredients as you would for a cake and spread evenly on pan. Top with halved plums. Cut the butter into the other Topping ingredients and sprinkle over plums and base. Bake for 30 minutes or until lightly browned and plums cooked.
Base can also be made of pie crust if desired, or a mix of pie and "cake" base described here.
