What do you like to use your instant pot for? So far I've only made a whole chicken, which turned out very good. Also how in the heck do you figure out what time to set it for? I followed a recipe, but there must be an intuitive way to know, right? Like if I want to go freestyle and throw in some meat. Thanks!
AnnieI've used mine for rice, curry, pulled pork, BBQ ribs, and a few chilies and stews. As for figuring out the time and such I've just looked up a manual for mine to give a general idea of what I'm cooking ie. Brown rice is 8 minutes while white is 6.

AnnieI like using it for stews, especially ones involving chuck or round cuts of beef, since they would take hours otherwise. I generally look up timing, but I've noticed most recipes involving proteins suggest about 1/4 to 1/3 of the usual time at high pressure vs. the normal time you think something would take.

That is probably one of the best time charts. Just know that it also depends on your altitude, I think.

AnnieI've been using it for making chicken stock. I save all my chicken scraps/ bones and then add aromatics (carrots, onion, celery, leeks, bay leaf, etc.). Then I divvy it out into 2 cup containers and freeze. It's nice because then I always have really good, low sodium, chicken stock in the freezer to kick up my dishes a little bit. Way better than store bought and doesn't take all day like it would in a stock pot on the range.
