Not a gamer, but a spatial listener, love accurate placement, the mis-maligned HD700 excels at this, unless you have the budget for some HD800... and yes, you will need to add a mic. HD700 owner, and this is what I would do, if I were to buy one of the new tempting sub warfare games. Used deal: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sennheiser-HD-700-Headphones/264554383620?hash=item3d98ab8904:g:SCcAAOSwooFd5Zcf Sound card: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Audio-712-P1-AN01-KR-Lifelike-Designed/dp/B07MSQJ3GY/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=nu+EVGA+sound&qid=1575480756&sr=8-1 Swap-in a MUSES02 for the headphone out (many fakes, buy from certified dist.): https://www.njr.com/MUSES/series/MUSES02.html
