There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Now at this point, everyone should be thinking about the most well-know Panda, The Rolex Panda, which is actually a Daytona, and among Rolex Daytonas, the most famous of which is the Paul Newman Daytona, which was famous first, because it was Paul's, and second because it sold at auction for $17.8 million (US Dollars). In the diverse world of grooming products for men, it's fairly easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of products and subcategories that there is out there. From whether to use toner or not to how much SPF for daily wear during the non-summer days all the way to what kind of cologne to wear to work; I'm curious what folks use on the regular. What have you found the most useful products for your everyday life and what are some items that you'd like to give a try to?
Here are some of my favorite products I can't live without:
- Blind Barber Shaving Cream - Watermint Gin (the scent alone of this cream makes me look forward to shaving)
- Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Toner (from our Beauty community -- the perfect toner after a shave and hot shower to bring back moisture to your face)
- Shiseido Men Deep Cleansing Scub -- my favorite face wash i found in Japan years ago and can be easily found online these days
- Konjac cleaning sponges -- these are great funky little sponges made out of a potato plant that grows in Asia and do a great job at exfoliating
- Royall Rugby Eau de Toilette -- classic scent from a little known American company that's been making these for quite some time now!
Other things I use on and off depending on the day: hand lotion (Xi, our beauty buyer, got me hooked on the lotions from Holika Holika), eye cream (when i don't get enough sleep and have panda eyes), charcoal mask strips, and my trusty Seki Edge grooming kit (clipping your nails with these is truly life changing).
Curious to hear from you guys what are your go-tos as part of your daily/weekly grooming ritual. Let us know in the comments!
