I'm a new audiophile so please don't get mad at me for asking this dumb questions as people in Facebook are giving me different feedback and I'm very confused.

I currently own a Hiby R6 Pro which I pair with the Sennheiser 660s. I have just ordered a new Drop+ THX AAA 789 yesterday. Is this all I need to have or I definitely need a separate DAC? I thought the R6 Pro already has a built in DAC and don't require anything else, as the 789 is just for the amplification purpose. I have not yet received the 789 yet since I just ordered it yesterday from Amazon but I would like to get some feedback on this. Thanks in advance.

You will need a decent line-out 3.5mm to RCA or XLR between the Hiby and the 789: https://www.amazon.com/Mogami-3-5-2RCA-03-Cable-Gold-Connectors/dp/B01M0I37GU/ If you want to take full advantage of the power headroom that the 789 has, get a ‘balanced’ cable for your 660’s, lots of choices: https://www.moon-audio.com/blue-dragon-headphone-cable-v3.html

Marantz is the author, the paper is a nice reference explaining how this all works, the Marantz hardware is also nice, have not heard the headphone stuff though. Cables will sound great.

rastusoh... Got it.. I thought that was the Maranz model that you recommend as the DAC.. I will have a look at the doc today. This will be a good reading material for my Memorial Day holiday as well. Thanks again for pointer. Hope my cheap cables / amp setup will work okay. You know, before having a chance to enjoy the music fed from my Hiby and 660s, I thought my cell phone and Sony xm3 was invincible and now they sound like crap... haha
