Wrist Check

Last year after assessing my watch collection I decided that I had enough Invicta watches and would never buy another one - then along came a panther. Todays wrist check is the Invicta Bolt Limited Edition Black Panther #25991. There have been several watch brands over the decades that have released models in collaboration with the release of a major motion picture or movie franchise, but in my opinion no one does it better than Invicta. Invicta has been releasing Star Wars and Marvel themed watches for a few years but in the past two years their design staff has been hitting on all cylinders with new bold designs for both Star Wars and Marvel. I stumbled across an eVine Instagram post about an up coming eVine event featuring new Marvel themed watches from Invicta, one of which was Black Panther (the movie had yet to be released). Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and more were offered during the eVine event, but I kept staring at that Black Panther watch - I became fixated with that watch. The eVine event came and went without me pulling the trigger and buying the watch, I kicked myself for letting the watch slip away and my daughter also gave me grief about passing it up. A few weeks ago another eVine event featuring Marvel branded Invicta watches was on-air and without a second thought “”BANG!”.....I bought that Black Panther. This is clearly the biggest watch I own at 53mm, big bulky strap, crazy twisted cabling around the bezel, and an all blacked-out look - I’m all-in! This limited edition was capped at 3000 pieces - my number is #1347

I think you should be looking at a U-Boat as your next aspirational watch.

The top one is 53 mm, and the bottom is the dress version at a svelt 46 mm (not counting the gear shift mechanism).
Check out the strap on that second one. It appears to be made out of a severely distressed used tire (non radial), maybe from a WW II jeep.

Yes, it's stainless steel all around. Also I'm pretty sure it's not going to fit under the sleeve of my shirts or jackets - I just don't see it as that kind of watch. For me it's just something fun to strap on for the backyard BBQ, a day at the ballpark, or just out having fun. And yes, you are correct about the case being 53mm - what was I thinking buying such a big ass watch…..Ha!

It looks great, and I assume it's all metal, no plastic? 52 mm x 18 mm: That is an insanely big watch! Actually, I'm reading 53 mm in some sources. It reminds me of some of the watches in the aborted Schwarzenegger collection from the Magnum Group. Does it fit under your shirt sleeve?
