You actually can but it takes getting a new cable for the headphones. As long as the headphones have detachable cables it will work. I found a company called Hart Cables. They have an amazing system for headphones and IEMs where their cables terminate into a mini XLR then they also have a multi-kit where you can buy most every kind of headphone connection that has the other part of the mini-xlr. Attach the two mini-xlr's and you have all the connections you'll ever need. The one thing is that it has to be headphones that have detachable cables. That being said, they are wonderful cables, they rarely if ever bunch unless its on IEMs and the cables always hang so nicely that they just disappear. So I have these on all my headphones that I can and all of my 4 IEMs, with this system I can listen to every type of headphone amp with all my headphones and IEMs and to me they all sound great. I also heave this exact same xDuoo MT-604 tube amp and use it with all my headphones now. I unfortunately do have a pair of Grado SR325x and they do not have detachable cables. I got the xDuoo MT-602 to use with those and it's super good. Inexpensive fix for budget tight tube lovers like me. All this said, there is another solution to work with headphones that do not have detachable cables like my Grados. If you love your headphones, like REALLY REALLY love your headphones, and they do not have detachable cables there are companies like MOON Audio that do custom cabling of headphones from the driver in the cup. Its expensive, like a few hundred dollars, and yes you can buy a really good set of headphones for that amount. But again, if you truly love your headphones it might me worth it. I'm thinking about doing it with my Grados.

you can order a 4.4 pentaconn to 3.5mm female adapter that you can find for pretty cheap on amazon.

SauceyJLet me finish this sentence for you. “you can order a 4.4 pentaconn to 3.5mm female adapter that you can find for pretty cheap on amazon.”…. And watch as your amp goes up in a puff of smoke. There, that’s better. You don’t want to plug a single ended cable into a balanced connection/adapter. Period This is the top recommended 4.4 male to 3.5 female adapter on Amazon … note that it clearly states in the title that it’s for a (rare) balanced 3.5mm 4-pole (I.e. fully balanced connection), not a (common) single-ended 3.5mm connection. Though it apparently is not truly balanced…Read the top review for it by JC. He explains the issue in detail. https://www.amazon.com/Geekria-Balanced-Gold-Plated-NW-ZX300A-TA-ZH1ES/dp/B075165H2M/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?crid=17S5SHO6IYTH5&dchild=1&keywords=4.4mm+to+3.5mm+adapter&qid=1635959651&sprefix=4.4&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzNkNWN1cxQkI4MU42JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNzI2MzAxMVNNUTBFM1ZPSlQ0RSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUExMDQ3NTU4MUY3VUZRRFFYUUdBTiZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

1AudiophoolYou’re thinking about it from the wrong end. You can’t feed single ended into a balanced amp, because you can’t separate a common ground into separate negative signals. . But you can take a balanced signal coming from an amp and turn it back into single ended. Otherwise how do you think balanced amps have single ended jacks?

I have both amps because I have a rad cabling system that helps me switch through all possible cable ports in all amps except for on one of my headphones. I got this amp to work with those headphones. Read my last reply, the bigger one, for details for that. I did want to drop in here to say personally, I do hear a difference between the MT-602 and MT-604. I love them both and use them for different listening sessions but if you like how this sounds and want even more tube in your music, look into what I was describing in that last reply I posted and you can hopefully use both! Either one, the MT-602 and MT-604 is a total win. I'd bet yoiull be stoked on either.

Cliff_21That…isn’t true. unbalanced uses a common ground. Each end of a balanced connection is a sense (+) and antisense (-). You can tie the antisense strands of a balanced signal together to create a common ground. You just can’t split a common ground into anti sense strands. balanced to single ended adapters are common.
