Always curious about other folks' gear, modest or top end. As an audio guy of over 40 years I've seen and heard a lot of stuff. I miss the days of walking into my favorite audio stores and listening to the available options in each store as they often varied. As a younger man I listened primarily on a home system but have listened more and more the past several years on my modest desktop system so I thought I'd show it off and hope others will share photos of their own rigs. So this is my desktop system, it's currently connected to a laptop while I haven't reassembled my tower PC. I disassembled it long ago because it was loaded with dust and crap, I just haven't had much inclination to deal with it. It's pretty ancient. I use an Emotiva XDA-2 Gen 2 DAC. My desktop speakers are the Peachtree Audio M-25 hooked to an inexpensive Polk Audio PSW 10 Subwoofer. I also have a Little Dot MKII Tube Amp with upgraded tubes. The M-25 are an upgrade from the Audioengine A2+ in Ruby Red which I still own. To be sure this is pretty basic but I just love it. It's an example of what a terrific time it is in audio to be able to realise a level of performance which was absolutely unattainable on a smaller budget just a couple of decades ago. I have yet to explore streaming music and feel no real need. The music library keeps me plenty entertained. I've added a shot of the home system as well. Loudspeakers are vintage 1970's/80's KEF, the 104.2 from 1984 and the 105.2 from 1979 which I have sold since this was taken. It's a modest system powered by the Emotiva XPA-2 Gen 2 power amplifier currently feeding a vintage Adcom GTP-450 Pre-Amp/Tuner (The Emotiva XDA-2 Gen 2 DAC is now being used in the desktop system). I have a Marantz CD5003 CDP in the chain, a Panamax M5100 Line Conditioner and the Cable TV box is also shown. The black canvas totes shown contain some of the CDR's which I have burned from FLAC from my personal collection, my former brother in-laws and two buddies collections. I have about a dozen more totes full in a closet. I don't own vinyl or tape anymore, having sold it all off when storage became an issue. I also sold my Denon DP-55K fully manual turntable, several cassette decks and my Revox B-77 Reel to Reel. I miss the B-77 until I recall the expense of Ampex 456 tape! LOL Oh yeah... also pictured are the Klipsch Pro-Media 2.1 speakers connected to the TV. The sub is not pictured. I'd love to see some pics!

OK, I got it. LOL Hey, it's our money to do with as we wish. It's really not up to anyone else. It's kind of like food. I live in Chicago and some feel compelled to say that a person can't put ketchup on a hotdog or they want to argue about the best pizza available. I say, "have it your way", to borrow the old BK jingle lyrics. Bigger fish to fry. LOL

MrChiSoxI ran into that video a while back! LOL He's right though. Some spend thousands of dollars on a TV and think nothing of it yet are critical of another who spends big coin (their own, no less) on a pair of headphones which will long outlast the TV so long as they aren't abused.
