thanks @dm94aq7 , good spot! now that you mention it, yes it does seem like quite a fair bit of deformation on the pad. I took the photo not long after I got it, so it was probably like that from the start. Will look to see if Drop will do anything about it

Unfortunately I'm in Australia, so don't know how returns and repairs will work.... Shipping may be prohibitively expensive

LceaucxIt may still be worth a shot, if Dan wants to sell headphones for $500 with the known issue of low quality pads, I personally think he should be responsible for shipping

The foam rolling under your pad looks pretty bad on the right cup in the photo. You can see how far the seam of the foam has drifted under the leather. This is a known warranty issue of the Aeons as it causes worse seal and comfort. You can try rolling the foam back into place however be aware this deformation can be permanent. How long have you had the headphones before the pads got this bad? For headphones at this price point, pads should not degrade for at least a year. For many users of Drop, Aeon headphone pads start degrading as quickly as a week, and some are delivered with rolled foam. I'd ask for a replacement pair if you can't get the foam back into shape or if the degradation continues.
