As pointed out, the QNIX model listed is listed on NewEgg as expected to have "3-5 dead pixels". They offer a perfect pixel version with no dead pixels for about 20 dollars more. Seems like at this price point it would make sense to opt for the perfect pixel model.
Already got myself a QNIX 2710, though I went for Perfect Pixel, just to be sure. Was $310 when I got it. Beautiful screen. I'd agree with vmrchs, though, that there's no reason not to go with PP.
So it looks like the Newegg.com - 27" QNIX QX2710 is the winner? I was reading up on reviews for this monitor from Newegg and it sounds amazing for the price. So....what do we do now? Sorry for being impatient I wanna pick this thing up badly!
QNIX! I bought one for $280 shipped, without pixel perfect and I have zero issues except minor backlight bleed on the bottom right. No dead pixels and stable OC'd to 120Hz! Only difference is that I have the tempered glass version, I have no glare issues anyways.
I love my qnix. I over clocked to 120hz, its not for the faint of heart. I had to do a lot of sleuthing to find a fix for broken flash video with my ati card. I dunno about the qnix led though.
You are already getting a Great deal for korean monitors already. Its the risk you have to worry about/ And also shipping for displays Iikely be half the cost of the item.
Nonetheless I can contribute to this discussion . I bought a Yamakasi (Catleap) 27 inch 1440 AhIPS for 329 USD (399 Aud) Which included free international standard shipping. This was from an ebay seller named green-sum. Worth every penny all I can say is the stand is absolute sh*t. Anyways good luck with your drop guys.
Edit: Bought the pixel perfect verion, Only had minor backlighting issues which you can only see up close
