Don't get the ATH-M50x's the 40x or the 60x is way better.
Audiotechnica makes awesome headphones at pretty unbeatable prices at a variety of impedance. That said, their customer support is terrible. I don't think they even have in-house support. A headset had a busted clip on the wing swivel and would fall off sometimes. I wanted a new wing-pad without a busted clip. I emailed AudioTechnica support the exact model and issue. Their response, a solitary request for the model of headphone. The very information leading in the support ticket I opened...
I obliged again and pointed out this information was in the original email. A couple days later I receive an email asking me if this is the closed or open-backed version of the headphone. I tell them it's the 'closed' and you can tell that by model number and it's irrelevant to the piece I need.
Days go by.
I receive an email reprimanding me for how I addressed the questions: He's 'just trying to help me out' afterall. I told him I was done, and he's not 'trying to help me out' as he hasn't read any of the information in any email. I had also dug up a technical diagram/parts list for the headphone and found the thing I needed. I told him I didn't want to talk to him anymore, but would like to know how to go about ordering the particular part. I have not heard back.
Edit: It's literally a piece of padding with a plastic casing that snaps onto the swivel of the headset. It's like a 99 cent piece! Woe to anyone that actually has a huge issue...
Keep in mind that according to the poll guidelines, any product poll is supposed to have a "No thanks" option in case there are members of the community that don't think a certain product should be hosted on Massdrop. I have added one for that purpose.
