Agree totally..... give us the M83 : )
will they ever bring this keyboard?
There was an update on M83 on the 24th of February on Unicomp Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/PCKeyboard):
“TenKeyLess Update: We are working on a tenkeyless keyboard, however, it is taking longer than anticipated. Look for more news on it in the next several months. Thanks for your patience!”
I guess mention notifications aren't implemented yet.
M83 with trackpoint or PC122 with trackpoint and I'm in.
Would really like to get an update on this.
I hope Massdrop could ship them to my country. Last time I spoke with Unicomp, they won't.
Is this vote still leading to a drop? Looks like it's been a couple months since there's been a comment from a Massdrop rep.
i have an endurapro. i love it much more than my das keyboard with cherry blues. i'd be down for an m83, but i'm truly dreaming for them to make a split hand keyboard with a matrix layout like the ergodox, but with buckling springs.
The 75% Unicomp m83 looks amazing! I wonder what the MSRP will be.
Also, does anyone know if the Unicomps have the same atrocious 2-key rollover the Model Ms did?

I happened to have had their black "m" which is pretty much an exact recent example of an IBM m and it still retained the 2-key rollover. That 2-key rollover only applies to certain key combinations though; as with all m's, some combinations go past 5/6 simultaneous inputs.
Key rollover shouldn't be too much of an issue for everyday intensive use and even gaming unless you need to spam an absurd amount of certain key combinations. Even then, the 2-key rollover problem coming to light is seldom and rare.
N-key rollover has been an overhyped selling point imho. I would not worry about it at all. The vast majority of people with a NKRO board do not even take advantage of that fact because it's simply not needed with typical use.

The smaller the keyboard though to more appealing NKRO becomes, otherwise key combinations become pretty limited. Unfortunately with the membranes on buckling spring boards it could actually be pretty hard to implement. Nice thing is, if this board gets produced it could really make a DIY option much more feasible.
Spoke with Unicomp today and they sound extremely interested! If this thread can get some more votes, then we can get a real estimate of what products to request pricing for.

On the contrary, they *need* to produce this keyboard to stay relevant and away from the red.
It's obvious, Unicomp is struggling against the onslaught of Asian mechs. The general user wants something shiny, compact, glammed up with an assortment of MX switches rather than the definition of no-frills beige office keyboard that they primarily rely on to stay afloat.
Worse is their keyboards use durability as a selling point and they won't need to be replaced for decades. For the record, I'm tying this on a 28 year old model m which just had its life extended indefinitely with a bolt mod.
This puts them in an awkward financial catch-22. Where's their cash flow?

Not at the moment :-/. Unicomp has promised a smaller board (the M83) by the end of the year, but it is not in production yet.

I would absolutely love an m83, but they aren't being produced yet. I really hope that Unicomp comes through with their promise of having it before the end of the year, but for now it's not really an option.

At the rate of things happening at massdrop, it'll most likely be out by the time they address it...
Also, a group buy would be quite incentivising for unicomp considering they're struggling due to their boards being so sturdy/ for a cliche market and the ever growing competition.
Of which could lead to an earlier release date and maybe even a prerelease groupbuy for massdrop of the M83.
