I'd just like to say that one of the Ultrasabers lightsabers are well worth the money. Safe to spar with, gorgeous and near indestructible. I'd recommend looking into it, guys. Even if it doesn't get a drop.
So they made a broad sword out of a Katana. Not bad but purists will argue that it will mess up the balance of the blade and even that its not a real Katana.. That man with the beard has some skill. I really felt sad for the sword though, being abused like that.
They are all real here buddy, unless you are looking to buy the real genuine crafted swords made from Tamahagane, found and sourced in Japan. Made by swordsmiths with over 100-200 years generation history from Sengoku period, perfected to the point of an Art form.
You could spend $ 5000 upwards for low caliber ones. And even if you afford it, you better have skills to match the craftsmanship of the Katana. They are not show pieces or hobby swords like the ones listed here. They say when a sword is crafted by Japanese swordsmiths, they perform shinto rituals and after several weeks of labour, invoke life into the sword. In the olden days they say, Japanese believed that the swords had character to them, enough to influence the wielder to make.. let say.. quick tempered rash decisions.
The bokken look to be pretty nice, price is ok as is with a discount they would be a decent price and a few mentions on some of the kendo pages and they would sell really well.
I vote for every day carry. There are quite a few times on subways, in traffic and in huge lines, i felt a Katana was too invaluable to miss.
(and a Wakazashi too for two handed finishers!!). lol :-)
