Yeah, there is really no way that this will ever happen. If those at that site are real, I don't see how they aren't either fake or stolen. There is more than $150 in parts in a GTX 970 as it is, they would be sold at a massive loss.
Sorry, but this won't happen for reasons that @Kouri and @DrPatrickBateman have said.
We've looked into this before and can't work out a way to reliably confirm the quality and authenticity of the item being sold. The chances that this seller is going to actually ship 100 units of the Geforce 980 by Gigabyte are super low and we don't want to gamble with $30,000 of your money to find out.
I appreciate the outside the box thinking though, and hope some day we'll be able to do enthusiast computer components.
Sorry guys, but Massdrop has said it before. The prices on Graphics/Video cards is already tight enough as it is; Massdrop will not be able to do a drop on Video cards anytime soon.
Manasseh look at the page I've linked to in the poll, aliexpress.com offers wholesale video cards, we just need enough people to place an order, I'm sure they can make an exception given the website already offers wholesale.
Oh, i see now. Maybe they will. I just get so used to people doing votes on Graphics Cards that i just copy and paste that. Now the issue of if they are reputable comes up
