Keyboardio is actually going to happen today at 15:00 UTC (11AM Eastern) when the kickstarted campaign gets published (subscribers got to see its draft a little before the start).
Since this is pretty much decided, I did not feel bad about adding a new choice for a keyboard that is even nearly ready. I just want to help advertise that there aren't just the two mechanical ergonomic keyboards.
They don't, actually. Most of them are programmable, so you can put functional keys wherever you want. Also for example Kinesis Advantage has the functional keys row. Also, they are pretty useless. Well, to me at least. They might have some application, won't argue with that.
Keyboardio's thumb-keys seem to be much better placed but as long as it is not completely split (in two actual parts) there is no way I'd get one over an ergodox...
Hey Jesse, maybe you should put up a picture in the full-split mode on your website, or at least add the info to the description. I mean that's rather important for some keyboard enthusiasts, and I wasn't sure if it will work this way either, I only guessed it will by some hints from your blog posts and the survey.
Hi guys! Jesse from Keyboardio here.
We're honored that some of you are excited to buy the Keyboardio Model 01.
At the same time, we find the suggestion that Keyboardio fans might be Sith to be completely reprehensible. Really, we just find the suggestion that there were any Star Wars movies other than A New Hope, Empire, and Jedi to be completely reprehensible.
Seriously though, the ErgoDox is awesome. And without it, we never would have started keyboard hacking :)
