Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer Hooded Jacket

I am between the Mammut Broadpeak light IN and the mountain hardwear ghost whisperer light jacket. To to use for light winter every day and occasional late season skiing. thoughts? Worried about comments on durability of ghostwhisperer shell
It's delicate for sure. That's why I always try to wear my shell over the Ghost Whisperer. No tears yet.
Borah Gear is lighter than the competitors with the same amount of fill!
I've got an original Mammut Broad Peak down jacket that I love and use for everything. They came out with a version "II" but now they've got nothing on their website. Still, lots of other good options.
Also, isn't the Patagonia nanopuff a synthetic insulated jacket?
The Ghost Whisperer external fabric feels pretty delicate, but god damn is it warm for nearly no weight. I usually have it under a wind shell if hiking through brush, though it's so warm I rarely need it for anything other than nighttime.

The Ghost Whisperer hooded version is listed twice. Should we combine those votes. Looks like it won't change much but... :)
Great poll! These are all great jackets and I hope we can get some on Massdrop eventually.
FYI, I disabled the Ghost Whisperer Vest and the Feathered Friends Hooded Jacket so that we are all voting on the same style jackets. It's easier to make comparisons, and makes for more valid results. How about starting a poll for down vests or hooded down jackets?
Halfway there guys :-)

I've owned L. L. Beans UL 850 down jacket now since 2006. Camped, slept in it, hiked sections of the AT & the Grand Canyon, wore it 80% of the year since too, by far one of the best jackets I've ever owned. I can only patch it so many times - lol! I wouldn't be free climbing in it for sure, but its time for a new go to jacket
The ghost whisperer is tempting, but I've heard the shell fabric is ridiculously delicate and gets holes super easily. I do like lightweight shell fabrics, but at some point it gets so light it's useless.

It's fairly lightweight. We'll see how it holds up compared to my patagonia UL puffy that is notorious for getting holes in it.
I managed to score one of these in a psychotic clearance sale for around 100 bucks. I couldn't not buy it for that kind of deal. It's weird how lightweight it is- it's almost translucent in the light and putting it on is like putting on warm air more than putting on a jacket.

I have a Ghost Whisperer jacket and have had no problems at all with the shell fabric. Great jacket. I use it for daily where in winter and for backpacking.
