Seems like I've made a dozen comments on this drop...here's one more: Looks like the 4.4mm cable on this is balanced. Just had that confirmed from Drop. I ordered that option assuming it was SE ... because the info didn't say otherwise. So, FYI. Good thing I got a MMCX cable from Hart Audio... EDIT (9-19): I'm officially an idiot. For some reason I thought 4.4mm = 1/4". I have no need for a 4.4, but at some point I may get a DAP. Now I'll have to find one with a 4.4 port. ;)

Honestly, i prefer 2.5 for that reason. Id rather it snap off vs use a 4.4 and have it WRECK my output port lol a cable is cheaper than a dap. Can always fish out that busted off connector.

Hart audio makes great cables and great customer service and cheaper than Apos... DEFINITELY give those guys a shot if you want cables. They're IT for my cables. But iem i tend to buy on aliexpress cause i love my ear hooks.

I've got approx 150 hours on mine now and they are sensational. They are typical planars and clearly benefit from hours of use. Out of the box they sounded very good but the bass and subbass has developed its got more texture and layering and in planar fashion is fast and articulate. Drum textures are beautiful. As the hours have mounted the staging has deepened, widened, lovely detailed misd with lush present vocals and the treble has both smoothed out and become more articulate with good air. Cymbal strikes, Marracas and shakers shimmer beautifully. I think the Timeless is the deal of the decade. They are supremely comfortable, isolate well, sound marvelous and do T break the bank. I love them.

Imaging and detail are fantastic. Bass is a tad more punchy than my Devas. Male vocals sound good. (for refence I have been listening to tracks from Rob Zombie, AC/DC, Metallica, and Incubus.) Sound stage is a bit narrow though, no worse than my HE5se.

So, I've been listening to mine. Best in class for sub $200 planar IMO* Would I recommend? Holy crap! For the price, it's a no-brainer. If you have the Tin P1, but want more bass without sacrificing the detail, get this. If you have the PMV PP, but want more detail without sacrificing the bass, get this. If you're curious what the fuss over planar IEM's is all about, but your amplifier isn't a nuclear reactor? Start here. Get this. *One important thing to note: The adhesive on the preinstalled filter grilles seems to let go easily after use due to heat and moisture. I fixed that with a tiny application of hobby glue and haven't had the issue since. For all the thought that seems to have gone into the Timeless, this one minor detail may have been overlooked, and it's the only reason for not giving a full 5 stars. In all other regards though, I'm floored! Well done 7Hz, you truly have produced something #Timeless.

You know, it would be a lot more timeless if they didn’t laser etch “7Hertz Timeless” onto the faceplate.

Looks like this one is going in the cart. I absolutely loved the P1 - yes a little bass light - but fast, resolving and detailed. I loved the P1 so much it sent me on the hunt for the ulimate planar which led me to the oBravo Cupid (hated it), IMR RAH (incredible) IMR EDP (amazing) IMR Elyssium (outstanding) . I've dropped close to $3K on Planar IEMs in the last 18 months and these $200 14mm could actually be the bomb for a non hybrid. I love the IMR stuff but they're expensive and hybrid. The Elysium is DD + Planar + Bone Conduction - but I've now listened to what BGGA has said - and I'm inclined to believe him on this one. There is absolutely nothing like a well implimented Planar for speed, accuracy, detail and resolution. I'm excited about the potential of this thing.

I commented above. It should be the, ost recent comment in the discussion. I love them. In many ways they are my favorite iems. They are clean clear deep wide and jsut so listenable a d fatigue free. I've got got others that slam harder and have more sparkle (my IMR RAH comes to mind - DD + Planar + Piezo) and I love them too but this Timeless is so Effortless.

holsenThanks! I found your comment just soon after I asked you here.. It seems that Timeless have that effect on people that like them - that they are liked a little extra and perceived to be kinda special. I guess they also are in the way that they supposedly are kinda the first planar in-ears that have hit a decent tuning. I find I like my ER-4P (S with more ohms) kinda in the same way - that they offer something special without necessarily being the only thing I listen to. I look forward to the Timeless (will receive them today) and I'm curious how they are compared to the Sundara which I have but can't really use since they make my ears too warm. So if the Timeless can offer just something in that direction with a smaller form factor I think I'll be pleased. I don't think the talk about the issue with compressed soundstage and lack of imaging will bother me that much. Thanks and enjoy

If these weren't planar, which I haven't experienced before, I wouldn't be interested. In May I spent $200 on the Fiio FH5 IEMs, which I can't stop using. So is it rational to spend another $200 on these? Maybe rational is not a word one uses when it comes to audiophile gear. :) Guess I have a few days to decide.
WordsandMusicI've heard pretty good things about the FH5 so if you're happy with it I'd suggest sticking to it that said trying new things is the name of the hobby and people seem to be liking these I probably could've stopped at my Moondrop Starfields and been happy but now I have like 15 IEM's lol

quicklytoo4Good perspective. As things stand at the moment, I'm planning to jump on this one. I'm just too curious to let them go. And if I find there's no reason to keep both the 7Hz and the Fiio, I guess one will end up on ebay. Or something like that.

BGGA just about creamed his jeans listening to this. But I must say the graph looks incredible. I'm not sure I need another set of earphones, though.

Surprisingly the G6 runs the HD 6XX way better than I thought it would. I’ve tried the 6XX on a cheap portable amp and it sounded really warm and muddy and it killed the treble. Not so on the G6. I think the power rating is only something around 250 mw. I’ve been really surprised at how good the G6 performs.

jdk_360Yeah, if the G6 handles the HD 6XX like that, then it should be pretty good with the Timeless too :)

What's the difference between these and the standard 7hz Timeless from Amazon, or is there no difference?
I thought Drop was about offering white label products from other brands with lower prices and some sonic tweaking...
