Good stuff, I like that it comes with the pillows and it is reclining quite a ways as well. I don't think I have any complaint about it yet except that I can't tilt it back as easy as some chairs, I think that might be because it's new...
ETA- I realized there is a knob that you can adjust and it loosens the tilt... much better now
After using it for less than a year and half the elbow rests are wearing out oddly, they are peeling, but a layer of super glue has stuck it back together with some small wrinkles.
A pretty solid chair and one of the few fabric options in this style. Knocked off a star because the lumbar support is held up by elastic and never stays in place.
Easy assembly, super sturdy construction, and very comfortable to sit in for long periods of time. The easily adjustable arms, back, and lumbar pillow do a lot to improve your comfort. The neck pillow I personally found to be an annoyance so I don't use it.
I only have two very minor complaints:
The bolstering is slightly stiffer than I'd prefer, but likely will soften over time
The minimum seat height is like 1" higher than I'd like. I'm fairly average height at 5'10" but have short legs with a 29" inseam, so even when down all the way my feet only sit flat on the ground when bent at exactly a 90 degree angle. More or less than that and either my heels or toes are floating. It sitting so high means I also have to drop the arm rests to the lowest setting to push it in under my desk.
I'm a hair under 5'8 and I weigh 150lbs. That is the same size as others to which AK's reps recommended this very model. That being said, it is far too tight around the shoulders. So much so that it hurts to sit as there's no way to lean back without feeling as if it's forcing my spine to contort. Even sitting upright is a chore if you have the pillows on. They literally do nothing for comfort and just give your spine another reason to attempt to dislocate. I have been telling myself that this needs to be broken in, and as such I've been trying to sit in it for 10 minutes a day. That being said, that 10 minutes is more agonizing to me than doing burpees in this 100 degree weather. Needless to say, if you lift weights, get a different model. Avoid this chair like the plague.
Feels like a solid chair, the foam is nice and breathes well. 2 things irritate me about it. The hydraulic for leaning the chair back is firm and requires effort to lean back even with adjusted to the least resistance. And the arms on these do NOT lock in place when it comes to sliding forward and back or twisting / rotating left or right (I verified with their support people), or sliding back and forward. If I push myself up on the arms, they slide or twist. If I lean to the side and my leg pushes against one, it twists. If I pull the chair to me from standing position, they twist. Maybe this is a minor issue for other people, but it irritates me. And the way it sounds / feels, I'm sure it will get worse over time. They could have done a better job there.
tetsu96Thank you very much for that piece of info! I would have liked a clearer 'Feature Note' explaining that the arms are "Free Floating" in the Overview. This feature is a deciding factor for me in a chair, I would have been very disappointed. Thank you!
This is my first "gaming" chair, do I didn't really know what to expect. The chair is good quality, and the warrantee backs it up. The seat cloth is durable, almost canvas in strength, but soft enough to be comfortable to sit in.
Personally I found the adjustable armrests to be overly adjustable, and too easily bumped out of my preferred set up. This is only remotely bothersome as they are easy to click back into place and while actually in use they tend to be stable. The tilt and base stability are amazing, but without an ottoman only remotely as useful as it could be. But yes, stability is outstanding, even tilted all the way back it feels firm and balanced.
The head pillow is a bit small for me, and I have pretty much disregarded the back pillow altogether. The seat cushion is firmer than I expected, and depending how I'm sitting and for how long my rump falls asleep. The appearance is nice, and the casters are very high quality and smooth when rolling across the floor, even when rolling over grout gutters on a tile floor.
Definitely a good chair, and I've paid as much for office chairs of less quality. Glad I got it.
