As expected...
Always liked this model just could never justify Al Mar’s prices for the materials and older designs. This is the best value I’ve seen. Still pricey for what you get. Don’t care for where the detent is set. Action could be considerably better. Far from what I would consider a 4” blade. Good fit and finish.

Amazingly Light Weight
I got the 3.15” version and love it. Great EDC, I forget I’m carrying it. Very sharp. It does take a little more effort to deploy because of the light weight.

Alittle smaller than I thought
Overall this knife is awesome. The weight and it is super sharp right if the box. I would buy again only next time I'd buy the bigger version. A great EDC choice.

Great material vs older Al Mars
I have wanted an Eagle for quite some time but never pulled the trigger as I didnt want to pay over $100 for Aus8 steel. Great interpretation of original withe better materials

Dull as a butter knife. Not “Al Mar” quality.
Knife arrived nicely boxed. I eagerly opened the mailer and threw away the box: Al Mar is a legendary name in ultralight knives, and I counted myself lucky to have found one on Drop. ... Then I used it to actually cut stuff. Yuck. The knife arrived *dull*. The edge is an embarrassment. My letter opener is literally (yes, literally) sharper than this knife. Maybe I’ll be able to wrangle the knife into sharpness after spending some time with a stone.. but I kind of doubt it. if I had kept the packaging, this knife might well be on its way back. Not recommended.

Okay little knife. Emphasis on little.
The Al Mar Ultralight is a light and little knife. However it's too light and too little. Maybe it's my big paws, but it was hard to manipulate this little thing. Hard to deploy and hard to close. It's a shame too. This was the first Al Mar that I've ever owned. I've heard such great things about them, like "out of the box sticky sharp" and "easy deployment". It's was sharp, but not sticky sharp and because of it's size it wasn't very easy to open. I'll definitely buy another Al Mar, but an older one and not one made in China.

Is the 2.75 showing up as an option to select when you pre-order? The larger two sizes are showing up as options but the smallest is not for me. Is anyone else having this issue?
fletch2468Oh yeah, I’m not seeing the tiny option either. I would probably go for a longer one anyway.
