This is a handy little pouch but to be honest, I don't use it on a daily basis. I keep it in my briefcase and put my coins in it, and the pouch back into my briefcase, when going through security at airports. After one incident in San Jose, CA where the little white tray with my coins and cell phone went through the X ray and came out the other end upside down. My coins went everywhere and the TSA morons stood there while I crawled on the ground, on my hands and knees under the X ray machine belt, trying to retrieve my personal belongings. The next day the pouch showed up in a Massdrop e-mail and I ordered it right away. It serves a great purpose as far as I'm concerned, and it is very well made. Overall, a good accessory to have.
Whenever I go abroad, I end up with tons of coins jangling about, in both my pants and my bags. Last time, I decided I’d buy a coin purse to try to avoid the jangling. When this came up on Massdrop, I nabbed two, and they haven’t disappointed. The leather is nice enough, the stitching good enough, the zipper works reliably, the colors are attractive, it’s the right size and design... and it’s very reasonably priced. In short, I am quite satisfied.
I don't carry change but I liked the size of the piece and the natural leather looked good. So I bought one and turned it into my new, complete wallet. I carefully opened the stitching on the end at the bottom end of the zipper, tied off both ends of the cut thread and then began working my favorite leather cream and some sweat from my face into theleather. First with my fingers for a few days, then with a stout shoe brush and finally with a series of different cloths. Added a short tether and a self-evident tool of some utility. The leather was beautifully soft and smooth but strong. It responded well to the cream and the hand-working of it into the skin. It holds my 8 plastic cards and up to $1k in Benjamins + whatever. See the three photos
Useless size, can't fit business cards through the zipper opening. It is like whoever designed it did not account for the zipper not opening as large as it is long. Poor curation lately, Massdrop.
I love the smell of the real leather, but thought it would have more room inside. The zipper does not zip smoothly, which is VERY annoying. It seems to have a bit less quality than I expected
Wanted to use this for a pair of IEMs but I need to really shove them in there. This thing is small! I really wish it were just a tad bigger. Even as a coin purse, you couldn’t hold that much in there! I wanted to love this thing. I almost ordered 4-5 of them! Wanted them to store my growing iem collection and was going to keep my 5 favorite sets in these. Glad I didn’t go through with it! I would have been REAL creased. I can only fit in smaller sized iems that have a thinner cable. I can fit in some other ones but I don’t feel comfortable doing it. Feel as if they could possibly break in there as the fit is so darn tight.
In the pics they had a knife and something else hanging out of it!!?! There is NO way you could use it for something like that! It doesn’t fit business cards, as the zipper stops to short. It’s just ok...
That said, it is well made and looks good, but is not worth the money you have to pay for it. Just wish it was a little bigger. If it was, I would buy more. But I think there are cheaper more durable things out there for me to use, that work a whole lot better. Oh well...
